Proposal: The Department of Societal Development

*Its goal is to improve the quality of life of all the people in The United Stated of America. This concept can also be applied on an international level.


Beginning of Resolution:


Be it resolved that Americans should be exposed to a variety of different societies- the ideas of other ways to run government (through researching successful policy overseas and at home), diverse cultures, world religions, arts, and artifacts. This exposure will speed the innovation and progression of our society and societies all over the world. This will be accomplish through  the spread of factual and truthful information.

This is the key to bringing down repressive regimes and societies that exist, wherever they may exist. It is also intended to motivate the People to be more involved in the legislative and political process, by encouraging free thinking and innovation.

Using a multifaceted approach through recommendations to congress and using the portion of the budget allocated to the department, the Department of Societal Development will drive innovation and- ideally, bring America back into a golden age of development and speed innovation in the way the People receive education.

The secondary purpose of the Department of Societal development is to create a multifaceted approach to data gathering and analysis. The department will maintain, however it is decided to be maintained, a Database of Public Knowledge. The beginning of this database will be the electronic documentation, through delicate scanning, of all non-secret documents within the Library of Congress.


Our society, and the federal government, is often misunderstood at home and abroad. To assist in this endeavor, we believe it would be beneficial to define our role to the People and other nations of the world.


We believe in, and wish to reaffirm, our forefathers definition of the federal governments role in our country.


Federal: 

Of or relating to the central government of our federation.

The District of Columbia is set aside as the seat of national government.

Government:
Our government is defined as the organization, machinery, or agency through which our 'political' unit and legislative body exercises its authority, and controls and administers public policy. It directly and indirectly influences the roles of the members of our society; defining there field of work and, ultimately, our collective quality of life.

May it be further resolved that:

The Federal Government of the United States of America is the
central governing body of our great federation based on the model of a republic; through
administering public policy, it is to provide a conducive environment
for the members of our society to be innovative, fueling progress, quality of life, and the economy.

After the execution of this resolution the flame of this nations Lady Liberty will then become once again a beacon of true freedom  and enlightenment to the other industrialized nations on Earth, and to all people who yearn to taste the freedom our forefathers allow us to be born into. Because the perception of the American Public believe the Federal Governments role is otherwise, we the congress of the United States of America believe this is the most patriotic message we can send to the American public.

We beg the President to  authorize this addition to the Executive Branch and take this baby step to begin to restore the worlds faith in the United States of America.

END OF RESOLUTION
The experience of "Life" is highly varied. 


It is sad that Americans look at congress and think 'How can I get my idea through the POLITICAL process?'. 

Shouldn't  our governing leaders, entrusted with our lives, our well being and the freedoms we cherish,  be ensuring that all Americans are able to express their ideas in a society that is open because fundamental freedom and fairness are guaranteed.

We need a return back to the founders intentions of what our country should be.

The constitution is the framework for the greatest nation on earth, and it is governed in, (now because of innovation in other societies in Europe, Asia, and abroad) one of least innovative ways out of the developed nations of the Earth.

I have been feeling more and more like a 'subject' lately, and not a 'member' of our society, the most enlightened in the world, and that is a sad thing.

I beg you, everyone reading this to urge congress to take this step to begin to restore our faith in American society, and our government in general.

This is intended to motivate the People to be more involved in the legislative and political process, by encouraging free thinking and innovation.

There are several way the Department of Societal Development will be able to drastically improve the life of all Americans, at a relatively insignificant cost compared to all other Departments of the Federal Government, not to mention the salary of the congress people themselves.

The goal of the Department of Social Development is to ensure the United States remains the most innovative country on the planet. 

It is intended to reverse our economic decline, and ensure we never decline again.
